The rain didn’t seem to dampen anyone’s sprit at this year’s Zombie Walk as tens of thousands of ghouls took part in the annual walk. It was however a little cool and I have to admit that around 4pm I started to get cold, I can only imagine how cold it was for some of the scantily clad zombies. This year’s charity of choice was the Heart and Stroke Foundation who wanted to raise public awareness of hands-only CPR™ through their CPR Makes You Undead campaign.
This year cast members form Evil Dead (The Musical) graced the stage, their youth and exuberance seemed to energize the crowd. They even added to the walk by creating a float that was in the parade. I managed to film a small part of their performance for OurLifeInToronto’s readers.
This Grand Marshal was Linnea Quigley who has enjoyed a lengthy career in the horror genre. She participated in the throwing of the severed head to start the Zombie walk and was one of the judges of the annual costume contest. Also she was a special guest at The Retro-Mortis Halloween Party presented by Fangoria.
All in all it would seem that this year’s Zombie Walk was a huge success and one that I hope will be repeated for years to come. If you would like to see more of the amazing makeup and costumes be sure to visit our Flicker Page.
